Hi,
Scale was low on batteries. Replaced them. Stood on scale:
Hi 🙂
Sensing
Step Off
Thinking
ERR
I stood on the scale a half a dozen times, same error. I re-setup the scale. Same error.
Is there any hope? Did it suddenly die?

I'm having the same issues, wondering if we can open a case with Fitbit.

Hello @triguy68 and @Jeanhaggen
Try removing the batteries for 10 seconds and reinsert them. Be sure the scale is placed on an even surface and weigh yourself again. If this doesn’t help look here for more troubleshooting tips: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1496.htm?Highlight=Setup
😃 Hopefully this sorts things out. Keep me posted

Yikes @triguy68
I’d definitely call Fitbit Customer Service here: https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US
🤔 The above directions I posted just a few mins ago to you came directly from the Fitbit Help Section pertaining to this exact ERR here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1496.htm?Highlight=Setup
I hope they can help

Same issue different cause. I changed my wireless modem ssid and password. The new modem came with default setting on 2.4 band with g and n bands. I changed it to bgn and it connected. I also noted that when I removed the battery I waited more than 10 sec's and when reinserted got the version number of the firmware at the beginning of the setup message. I hadn't noticed that before so I don't know if it is significant. Fitbit chat support wasted my time and then said they would forward it to the scale support, wait for an email. We keep supporting these tech companies with zero accountability. Good luck.

😫The dreaded ERR Code Disease is spreading…..But I continued to look for some kind of answer and I might have found something. Apparently there is a little pin hole opening on the back of the scale near the battery placement. I found a YouTube video demonstrating where it’s at here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=khl89e8seYU
Apparently it does a factory reset on the scale so only proceed if you wish. Look here for the directions to perform a factory reset then a new set up for the Aria scale: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Aria-Scales/Reset-Aria-to-Factory-Settings/td-p/2636324
😃 I can’t promise anything but I thought I would share

👋😃 Hello again @Wahre … I’m thrilled you actually got an email response from Fitbit. I will admit that some (actually most) of the response they offered you is completely over my head. I would truly starve to death if my life depended on deep technological router/modem jargon…🤣 so I wouldn’t need a functioning scale to weigh my dead carcass. In the end did you get your scale up and running based on those instructions? I’m crossing my fingers that you did.
👋😃 Hello again @triguy68.…Gosh I’m really sorry that your still experiencing the dreaded ERR again despite all the troubleshooting steps you have taken. If it’s gonna be an expensive door stop I hope you can at least find a room in your home that it will fit the decor nicely. 😆….All kidding aside it bums me out that something as easy as a scale should take so much time and effort to keep alive. I’m sorry things didn’t work out.
