Have they ever released or fixe the issue with the Aria not being able to connect to wifi on routers running 802.11n, because the Aria only being able to connect to the 802.11b networks is to put it bluntly f***ing ignorant especially since most the routers with the higher speeds now have to run on one of the other protocols. I just upgraded and now this scale is completely useless. Fitbits technology is just becoming trash with the fact they haven't adopted anything since releasing it and fail to adequately maintain updates on it so everything is compatible.

@CarriMD13 Thank you for participating in our Fitbit Community! Let me help you with the setup issues that you are experiencing with your Aria scale. I would just like to know if the batteries you put are rechargeable and alkalines. Have you tried cleaning the contacts of your scale (where the batteries are placed). After cleaning the contacts, put the batteries back in and see if your scale doesn't turn off when you get the "Tap to change" message.
@Toddi1 Thank you for sharing your comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

OK, I too just bought a new router (Draytek 2862), and lo, my Aria scales (mark1) won't connect. Maybe they need WEP, rather than WPA/WPA2 I thought, so I tried that .. no dice, just 'Wi-fi err' (they see the network, the password entered is correct, they just won't complete the setup).
So I set up a new SSID with no password. Still won't synch, although this time they did come out of 'set up' mode so I could at least weigh myself. Finally I set the router's 2.4Ghz wifi to '11b ONLY' (was previously 11b+g+n) and the scales connect just fine .. but of course the wifi network runs like molasses in Alaska that way.
What is the deal with these wretched scales - everything else (eg Kindles mk1, and antique junk) is happy to play 11b or 11g on a mixed network, but the scales won't work except on vanilla 11b (still no password). I swear they used to, on the old router, which was also set for mixed 11b/g/n .. just with the new router they are not happy.
Can anyone recommend a sensible set of scales .. preferably ones with a WPS button and not a stupid 'pseudo web server' mechanism (what about folks with just wired PCs, guys?!). Grrrr

@GSV3MiaC I'm sorry for the late response. However, I'm glad to hear that your scale connected to your network after changing the settings.
Regarding your concern, I'm afraid that the Aria scale is designed to connect with the protocol 802.11b only. I know that this is frustrating for you.
I appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving.

@Toddi1 In order to avoid any confusion on my end, please let me know the doubts you have so I can clarify.
In the meantime, let me know if your Aria is working properly.
See you later!

Tried everything everyone has mentioned. Still nothing. So I am assuming it is dead and no longer gonna work. Just a bummer that I spent all that money on it and it did not last that long.

I also just put in a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 (moved to NBN) and tried to reconnect my Aria scales and got a wifi err. Very frustrating.

I was having the same frustrating issue, wifi err, I actually spent the last 3 hrs working on it, not to mention the numerous hours I had already spent on and off, I followed all instructions provided to a T and was unsuccessful. I finally decided to reset the scale to factory settings and I successfully connected to wifi. Flip the scale over and you'll find a small reset hole about 2 inches left diagonally from the battery cover, remove one battery and place a paper clip or whatever fits in reset hole until you feel a click, hold it there and replace battery, wait for set up active to appear. Hope this works for you too 🙂

So......is there a solution for the aria ERR message or are we left with an inoperable device? Very frustrating....

This is absolute bull@#$%... worst Product Marketing management I've ever seen. Get your heads out of your a@@'s Fitbit and learn how to manage lifecycle of tech products. No way am I going to de-rate my brand new wireless router for your stupid piece of crap scale. Going in the garbage and I'm telling everyone that Fitbit doesn't have a clue... And if you send me one of your "thanks for your feedback" messages, I'm going to throw a chair...
Get bent.

After walking through this a dozen times it finally worked!
if you have an Eero as your router, you will need to disable 5GHz in the troubleshooting settings to get this setup again

Yes! I've had my Aria since 2014 and now that we switched our network. Now I can't connect to any network, and the scale keeps entering set-up mode, so the batteries wear out immediately. It's very frustrating. I think part of the issue is having a 2K and 5K network with the same name - most new devices are 'smart' enough to figure it out or can connect to either, but older ones have to be dedicated to one.
Just wondering if others are using a different wi-fi scale with better luck?
