Aria air sync issues - solved!

Years ago I bought the aria air scales. Setup was fine, and they worked flawlessly for ages. Then, seemingly out of nowhere they stopped syncing. I tried the usual things and everything in all the forums, but nothing would work. I tried resetting the scales, the app, logging out and back in, rebooting my phone, repairing the scales, etc etc but the closest I ever got was that if I stepped on the scales, the log weight screen would open in fitbit, but no values would populate.

For 187 days, this remained the case (because devices showed me "last sync 187 days ago) until today where I have finally got it working. This is how:

Uninstalled fitbit app completely

Rebooted phone

Installed old version of fitbit (4.02) from an app mirror site

Logged in via Google account

Closed fitbit app completely after allowing the permissions it prompts for (location Bluetooth etc)

Used the "log weight" shortcut from the fitbit app icon

Stepped on the scales - the app worked! It found the scales, the orange circle whiles around the turned to a tick, and my weight was recorded and saved. Checking under devices, the scales now showed as "synced moments ago"

Closed fitbit and opened Google play store

Ran update to latest version

Opened the fitbit app, left it in "today" tab

Stepped on the scales... Success! Weight synced and recorded.

Tried again via the log weight shortcut, success.

Tried again via the app, success.

It now seems to be reliably and consistently detecting and syncing my weight from the scales, and the "last sync" time is accurately updating under my devices tab, too.

Hope this helps someone else!

Thank you so much, this worked for me. Tried all the customer service advice and it didn't work at all. The customer service is useless so I'm glad someone was able to find a workaround!

I went through the headache of removing it from my network before finding this post 😭.   The scale is really finiky getting it back on the network.  I highly reccomend isolating it on its own IOT network because it uses old Wlan (b) standard that most routers don't support anymore or that needs to be enabled in router settings.

Here is how you can set up the ap if your not the most tech savy and will save you some goolgling.  I forgot how to do this it has been so long.

I gave you a shout out on Reddit r/fitbit thread and added some links we are not able to post here that helped. Used the same title and message so people can search for it if they stumble here.

Pretty clear the company could care less about the users, this technology is beyond their IQ
