Aria doesn't recognize my user

Scale was great for a while, then it started to show that I had lost weight, which was awesome.  Then I gained 15 lbs in a week.  Lost 10 lbs overnight, and apparently gained it all back in two days. By comparison to another scale (and how my clothing fits) it is still underweighing me by about 15 lbs.  I don't move the scale, it stays parked in one spot in my bathroom on a hard surface.

It has also forgotten who I am.  I was able to switch the data from my dashboard, and then it remembered who I was for one weigh in.  It continues to address me as a guest and does not measure my Body fat %.  So, not sure what is up with that either.

What can I do to fix it.  I really like this scale, but it is far to expensive to wear out this quickly.

Thanks,

Aaron

@dogonets It's great to see you in the Community! Seems odd that your Aria scale stopped measuring your weights accurately and no longer recognizes your user. Please try taking the batteries out for 15 seconds and put them back in. Once this has been done, weigh yourself 5 consecutive times and check out if your weights get corrected.

Keep me posted on the outcome my friend! Smiley Happy

I did as you instructed. The scale still seems to lose me as the person
being weighed (i.e. I still show up as guest). And it isn't so much an
issue with the weights varying from one moment to the next. For example,
when I weigh myself multiple times in a row the weights are nearly
identical, but if I weigh myself tomorrow it might show that I lost 10
pounds, and the next day I will have gained 3 lbs. I'm reasonably certain
my weight is not changing that drastically that quickly. (Only once in my
life have I actually lost 10 pounds overnight and that was a REALLY bad
night!)

So, not sure what the issue is or if there is a verifiable way to track
that it is fixed.

My experience is similar - I gained 6.3lbs since yesterday, having lost 4.9lbs the day before... neither of those swings are realistic in the slightest.
I reset the scale every day as I can't guarantee putting it down in the exact same place on the floor, and then it guesses at both my weight and body fat % (though I gained 6lbs, I lost over 1% from my body fat!).
I suspect the scales aren't actually very good, they sell on the basis of the gadgetry (just stand on the scales and fitbit, myfitnesspal, garmin all automatically end up upated, that's cool!) but they're a bit rubbish at the actual measurement bit.

Edit:

I may have been a little hasty - a little research suggests 5lb swings are not uncommon thanks to water retention/expulsion in response to salt and carb content... and if that 6lb gain was water, then the reduction in fat % makes sense too.

I got my scale for Christmas, and once I got it set up, it was within a pound of my old reliable scale and seemed consistent. However, this morning I lost 10 pounds. What do I do to get it back to being reliable and consistent?

It seems you have not responded to the follow up to your comment.  Removing the batteries and weighing one's self 5x consequently doesn't seem to fix the problem (per the other user and my own experience).

Since getting the scale (January 2016), I have weighed myself daily with Arial and then weekly at my Weight Watcher's 7-day weighin.  The two scales have always been three pounds off from each other (mine and Weight Watchers').  Considering I cannot stripdown to my birthday suit at the Weight Watcher's meeting like I do at home (could go to jail if I do), it seems reasonable that there should be a slight difference in poundage.

BUT...

Back in September (2016) there gap in weight registering for the scales jumped from a three pound difference to a seven pound difference. I have researched and researched and followed all instructions possible and have not been able to fix the scale.

Reading the comments by other troubled users in the community is quite disturbing... especially, since there is no diversity being offered in terms of solutions.

Please offer some other options.  What do you do AFTER you have taken the batteries out to reset the scale???

Your help matters!!

Thanks.

When it starts to forget who I am I have discovered that I just change the batteries and it seems to start working again as normal.  I've somewhat given up on hoping that it is appropriately calibrated and just go with what it says, unless there is a big jump in the numbers that seems "way off".
