Aria2 does not “wake up” when tapped?

I have all the same Error 1 problems, but I cannot get the scale to wake up when tapping it. So then I just step on it and get the error. Why doesn’t it wake up?  I’ve replaced batteries.

I would like to know if the new batteries are rechargeable since these type of batteries not always work properly on the scale.

Hi. My batteries are not rechargeable. I did finally get it to weigh me. I learned from reading other comments to step off when the footprints change. Then I saw a weight. I don’t remember it working like that before. I thought I saw all the numbers while still on the scale. I think there needs to be more detailed instructions for exactly how to use the scale.
