Can non-fitbit users use the Aria 2?

I own a fitbit charge 2.  My husband does not use a fitbit product.  We are considering buying an Aria 2.  Will my husband be able to use the scale and will it track his data as it does mine?

Thanks,

Maggie

Accepted Solutions

@MaggieAnn54, if he creates an account on Fitbit.com using his email address - it must be different than yours - and then you send him an invite to use the scales, he can then accept the invitation using the computer and his Fitbit.com email address. He will then be added to your scales and can use it just like you do.

@MaggieAnn54 Thanks for participating in our Fitbit Community! Thanks also for your interest in the new Aria 2. Regarding your inquiry, the information the shared my friend @USAF-Larry is totally correct. as long as your husband creates his own Fitbit account, he'll be able to join the Aria 2 once you send him an invitation. You can find the steps to send an invitation in this help article.

Hi, I had the same question.  My husband does not want a fitbit and may not even want to sign up.  If he doesn't have a fitbit account, can he just simply step on the Aria2 like normal and see his weight?  I don't think he is too interested in tracking it.  Just getting on every so often to check.

Thank you.

@lexikate81  Your husband can weigh himself on your scale, without setting up an account.  It will only display his weight and then it will say GUEST.  It cannot display his BMI or %BF if he doesn't have an account.

Those weights do appear in your account -- if you tap on your Account > Aria 2 > Recent Weigh-Ins, you will see them.  They can be deleted, if you don't want to keep them.

Thanks. I went ahead and got one. So far he hasn't used it. But I LOVE it

I'm going to piggy back as well... if I am a user and he is a guest, I still have to delete them?

@nhelton  You don't have to delete them.  You just might want to delete them.

@lexikate81 I'm so glad to hear that you decided to get an Aria 2 and you are enjoying it now. Than you for posting the update here.

@nhelton It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! Regarding your question, my friend @LZeeW is correct. It's up to you if you want to delete the "Guest" readings on your Dashboard. You can leave them there since those readings won't affect your own data.

Hi,

My daughter doesn’t have a tracker but does have a Fitbit account.  I have invited her to use the scales and she is on my list of users but when she goes to use the scales they still call her a guest.  Any ideas please x

@FlintLady  For clarification, she accepted the invitation and chose her icon, correct?  If no, make sure the invitation is complete -- she should see the Aria 2 on her list of devices when she taps on the Account icon on her dashboard.  If yes, then re-assign any of her GUEST weigh-ins to her.  To do this, tap on the Account icon on the app dashboard > Aria 2 > Recent weigh-Ins.  Tap on her Guest weights and you can re-assign them.  If there are only one or two Guest weights, she might need to weigh herself as many as five times in a row to get the scale to recognize her.  But she needs to re-assign the weight to her each time until it recognizes her.

I hope this helps.

How long are those "Guest" readings saved on "Recent Weigh-Ins" if they are not manually deleted? Thanks.
