How to update Aria 2 firmware

My Aria 2 scales are currently running firmware version 23.21.6.0 which is not the latest version according to https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1372.htm.

How do you update the firmware on the Aria 2? I'd like to get the improvements from version 23.25.4.0 which apparently was released in 2019. From everything I've read, it's meant to happen automatically when it syncs but clearly this isn't working for me. Is there any way to trigger it from the app?

The Aria 2 Manual says only this: "Your scale will receive automatic firmware updates. Allow these
occasional updates to complete prior to use."   There is no way to force an update from the app. You would probably need to contact Fitbit Support to see if they have an option to force an update.

Just to follow up on this, in case anybody is searching and found this thread...

My Aria 2 updated to the latest version automatically yesterday in the background. Given the last sync time reported in the Fitbit app it looks like it did it on its own, without me having to step on the scale, as I did not use the scale at all yesterday.
