Please, how best to weigh a package or inanimate object on the Aria 2 scale?

Hello @Mark2030 and a warm welcome.  I noticed that many packages don't have enough weight to make the scale come on.  I also think that an odd size might not give a correct weight.  I usually weigh myself with and without the package and do the math.  That said, I don't think this method has the accuracy of a postal scale, if that is your goal.
