Active Minutes / pausing

I walk my dog three times a day, for 20 to 30 minutes each time.  We stop for her to do her business, wait for the light to change to cross the street, which affects the active minutes I actually get.

I know you have to be active for a minimum of 10 minutes but how long can you pause, if at all, before you have to start over?

It's great to see you participating in the Community @Poodlemama.

As you mentioned, you need to be constant in the exercise you are doing in order to earn active minutes. If you stopped the exercise at the second 59, that minute won't count as active. For more information about this, you can take a look at the What are active minutes? article.

Thanks for responding.  I'm mostly curious as to how long you can pause before the clock starts again.  Our only choice with our dog walking route, is to turn right or left when we get to the street, normally takes 25 minutes.  Sometimes I come home with 12 active minutes and other times upwards of 22 active minutes.
