Love the Blaze it will not register active minutes.  I walk briskly every day. My flex always did this. It gives me stairs when I walk.

Hi, @WhynotP, active minutes are recorded when your Fitbit detects that you are burning calories at at least 3 times your BMR calories for at least 10 minutes (BMR calories, as you probably know, are the calories your body burns keeping your bodily functions going, and are estimated based on your profile statistics: gender, age, height and weight).

As the Flex does not have a heart rate sensor, it estimates a 3x calorie burn (triggering active minutes) by how fast it is detecting steps.

The Blaze, with its HR monitor, can estimate this much more accurately.  In order to be awarded active minutes your Blaze will need to detect you in the cardio zone.  It sounds like you are not getting your heart rate high enough (assuming you have correctly entered your profile information).

You will get "stairs" when you walk if you can at least 10 feet in elevation, for example walking up a hill or incline.  However, you should be aware that weather conditions will affect your stair count, and when the weather is windy, or a weather front is coming in, it may trigger extra stairs, even when there is no elevation.

I hope this helps and that you are enjoying your new Blaze.
