I've had my Blaze for about 19 months and over that time it has worked well, but over the last 2 weeks the battery life and sleep recording have started to fail. A full charge used to last for 5 days or more, but now I'm only getting a couple of days, sometimes less. Also the Blaze has stopped recording sleep properly, some nights it records no sleep at all while other nights it only picks up about half the sleeping hours. I've restarted the unit several times and this helped initially but the improvement does not continue.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. If you are having issues with your Blaze battery life, I recommend taking a look at this post and follow the instructions provided there. Now about the sleep, here you will find some tips in order to obtain a better reading of your sleep.
