Another Blaze no notifications issue

Hello to all,

I just got a new blaze and it seems that I cannot get any notifications shown up on my tracker, even in just bubbles. I have tried all bits and pieces I have read in the forum, all settings are set up to recommended, notification center is on, pop up notifications are on, I have selected my text, call and calendar notific types, I have enabled all available choices, I have rebooted tracker and phone. I followed the troubleshouting tips but still nothing. Noted that y phone, a Huawei P8 is compatible. The strange thing I noticed is that my phone under bluetooth settings can only find the Blaze (classic) option not the Blaze plain option. Yet syncing is performed normally. I tried to unistall tha Fitbit app, reinstalled it, and for a moment I was able to see the Fitbit Blaze under bluetooth devices, but I was unable to pair it from there( although I know you can only pair it through Fitbit). After some other settings I tried the Fitbot Blaze devise had disappeared again. Is that maybe the reason I cannot get notifications, a possible pairing issue?

"To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear."

Just to add that under connected devices I can only see Blaze (classic) not Blaze, while the second one is not even showing when searching for new devices. Despite the above I get to sync my phone with my tracker.

Take a look at this article on how to set an Android phone up to push notifications. This push needs to be turned on for the Blaze to recieve notifacations.

As for the BT low energy showing up or not, i noticed on the older Android OS it fod not, but it is the app that pairs, pairing can not be down in the standard way.

Hello Rich,

Thank you for your reply. Push notifications are set up on my mobile. I think the problem is that even if it seems that I pair my tracker through the Fitbit up, when I check if blaze is connected under Bluetooth settings it doesn't show up.

It might be which version of Android is running on the phone?

I know it seems to work with lollipop and marshmallow, i never got the Surge to receive notifications on kitkat.

And on the phones lock screen or status bar are you able to see text messages.

They say the lock screen is optional, but my experiance has shown otherwise. Text messages where not consistent until i enable this lock screen text popup.

Not saying this is the cause, I'm fishing for possibilities, Android can be a pain at times, and and perplexed as to why the Blaze doesn't show, this as you say might be the key.

You could try to setup the Blaze as a replacement tracter. Perform the add tracker routine, and choose r the Blaze to replace. This had worked to fix other problems.

Well, unfortunately still nothing. Im not sure whether my tracker on my Huawei is the problem, considering that It was a pain for me to figure out how to make viber notifications pop out on my lock screen. It seemed that I had to enable viber as a protected app meaning that it runs on the background consistently. But now I get no notifications at all on my blaze. I am pretty sure it is this missing "Blaze" connected under my bluetooth settings. Another weird thing is that my bluetooth finds blaze available periodically. It could be a huawey P8 bluetooth malfunction or it could be a hidden setting or something like that.

Hello again.

Well 4 days later , I still haven't found a way to make my Blaze appear under my Bluetooth settings. My connected GPS won't work as well, it only works with the app,  if I cick start from my mobile. I have contacted Customer support but communication is difficult. They respond to me at a rate of one message, every 2 days. Any other suggestions of what may be wrong??

Have you tried all recommendations given in this forum? For me after 2 weeks of contacting customer support it appeared that my Huawei P8 version was not compatible, thus I had no notifications or connected GPS. I have no idea whether they are trying to fix it or not. If you are planning to contact customer support I propose to send them an email via Fitbit app. In this way the email will include some important features of your device that will help Fitbit team respond to your matter more accurately.

i am having similar problems with my huawei honor 6 and blaze pairing.

tried everything , switched to marshmallow, cleared cache , all permutation combinations tried but it doesnt show notifications.

may be Fitbit added huawei just like that , or its the blaze which has a issue as in marshmallow i can see that in the setting and app notifications the default is fitbit but it still doesnt work. very suprising.

has any one got a solution for this.

I have contact customer service they said I should send my tracker back to the company to check. Even though I said that I have tried to paired my tracker with another phones(LG G3, Oppo N3, iPhone 5s) all functions work perfectly with all those phones except my Huawei Honor 6 Plus that cannot get calls, texts notification!. I said that the problem should be Huawei, or Fitbit software but they said Nooo it should work caus you phone in the compatible list.... Hopeless maybe i need to change my phone??? To solve the problem!

Hi there guys @anshullahoty @nhung_t, good to see you around!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Huawei Honor 6 and Huawei Honor 6 plus not working with your Blaze. It does appear in the list of compatible devices but its strange that it's not letting you pair your tracker or get all the functions to work correctly.

Anyone else around here that has tried to use a Huawei Honor 6 or 6 Plus and it has worked that can share their suggestions?

Surprisingly fitbit has no solutions and have given up on me. I wonder id this is what the solution is by them,Giving up. I asked them to even check with huawei about this but they have no reply. So now I am wondering what to do and who to talk to.

They should compile all the Huawei threads into one mega-thread lol, it's pretty much the same issue for every single person who has a Huawei phone and blaze tracker; it won't "bond" properly via the fitbit app.
Unfortunately these days it seems there are too many pieces to the puzzle to lay any blame or find any solution... It could be the Android version, the EMUI version (Huawei OS), a particular issue with the Bluetooth chip Huawei uses, the fitbit app, the blaze software, the blaze Bluetooth chip... OR the new Android OS's are causing issues with Bluetooth devices not running the Android wear software?

I'm pretty certain however that this issue will not ever be resolved because it falls into the "who's to blame?" basket. For all the Huawei phone owners out there who purchased a Blaze, be prepared to have a device that can use only half of the advertised features, or get yourself a refund... That is the only and final solution. 😖
