Barcode scanner

Hi i don't seem to be able to get the scanner to work. Picks up the occasional thing but majority of bar codes it doesn't recognise. Any ideas? Thank you

Www.Yippy say or doesn't recognize it, is it because it can't read it, or because there is morning in the fracas associated with the UPC?

If it is the later the app should give the option to add the bar code to three database
