I don't think you start getting the battery charged symbol until after you have gone through the setup process. Give it an hour on charge and then try the setup. You can complete the charge afterwards.

Best AnswerI've had my new Blaze plugged in for 2 days, even changed ports, even though I know they are all working. I confirmed it was in the charger properly (4 prongs lined up). I can't update it till it charges, and I can't charge it. I'm so disappointed I've had it for 2 days and can't even wear it yet. Please help! Thank you.
Mine is doing the same thing, just got it and it's not doing anything, my phone says to charge it to continue set up...but the battery symbol wont come up.. I will leave it for a few hours and see if that helps

@MegC90 the battery charging indicator only works once the setup is complete. Until then all you will see on the fitbit is the setup message. Give an hour or so on charge then go through the setup. You can then complete the charge (and see the charging indicator)
