Blaze Bluetooth Connectivity Issues and Notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It seems like Blaze has a bluetooth connectivity issue for iOS (specifically iPhone 6s Plus)

Scenario

1. Blaze is connected to the 6s Plus (All Day Sync is Off)

2. Received a Phone call/message and Blaze promptly notifies me

3. I step into my connect and phone automatically gets connected to my car - and I am happily listening to Pandora

4. Got off the car and started walking towards the office (assuming fitbit is automatically connected)

5. Received a phone call and a message(sms) - BLAZE stopped notifying me!

6. Restarted iPhone 6s Plus and things started to work again

Is anyone else having this issue?

This is a quirk with most BT devices, after disconecting from yhe car , i don't think your Fitbit realizes thatbit needs to send out a ping to get reconnectd.

Mabe Fitbit needs to have send out pings every 5 minutes, when it is not attached to the phone.

Next time try going into yhe phones BT screen  and tell the phine to connect, oh wait i don't think this will work on the iphone.

Aforced sync or coneecting to the GPS might.

Thank you Rich. This is my 2nd Blaze in 1 week. My 1st Blaze worked flawlessly but returned it due to Belt issue. This Blaze for some reason is having the Notification issue.

I am bent towards the Unit defect right now.

Hello @Chintan_Shah welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂 @Rich_Laue It's great to see you around 😉 @Chintan_Shah are you still experiencing notifications issues with your Blaze? If notifications are not working properly:

  1. Restart your tracker.
  2. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  3. Turn off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.

Keep me posted! 🙂

AngelaFitbit,

Your solution has worked for me, but it seems to only be temporary.  Do you have any long term solutions?

Thanks

Hello @weedenft I'm glad to hear this was helpful! Currently this is the only available troubleshoot if your tracker is not receiving notifications.

Thanks for stopping by! 😉

And that's the problem. Your product is poorly designed. I'm on my second blaze,  and I'm still having same problem. Works fine all day,  go to bed,  swipe down to turn notifications off,  so they don't wake me on my wrist,  wake up,  swipe down to turn notifications on,  no connection,  not receiving notifications,  have to reboot phone,  reconnect Bluetooth. Then it works. Til the next night.

What's up?

I haven't experienced this, though i don't put it in DND mode to sleep, i do use it for meetings. Once in a while if the notifacations stop a simple reboot of the phone works. I also noticed when notifacations stop, my phone can't access the wifi printer or my data server over wifi. Does that make it a phone problem or a Fitbit problem

What i don't know about is you say you have to reconnect the tracker. This is not something the user is able to do, tu8s 8d tye job of the app.
