Has the Blaze been discontinued? This thing hasn't had a firmware update in like 3 years.
Why would I want to buy another fitbit product ever again if there's barely any support past launch?

Here's the thing: It's really not.
If they're not updating the firmware and patching security holes, it opens our phones up for IOT attacks through the Bluetooth.

I personally not recommend buying any Fitbit product as they don't have a support center. We can't buy a new product every time.

Hello @vips and welcome to the Help forum. Fitbit DOES have tech support. There is a Help link at the bottom of every page. One more tap gets you to this page. You can speak with someone, chat with someone, or contact through Twitter.

I actually like my Blaze better than my Charge 2. My Charge was/is terrible at sleep tracking. hours and hours of sleep are just... missing! Better display of course and easier to read. I know I toss and turn at night but at least my Blaze registers as sleep or short times as awake. Even though my Blaze is pretty old the battery life is very good.
So in other words, I don't understand why stopped supporting firmware and such. For example I can't change my clock face on the App... only on the website.
PS: Chat support has ALWAYS been very helpful to me, otherwise I'd be wearing an Apple watch right now instead of my Blaze or Versa (waiting on a replacement for my Versa from Fitbit.

@Stannman1 The Blaze was Fitbits first attempt at a smart watch. It had a proprietary operating system and could not have third party apps or clock faces. Once they developed Fitbit OS, they pretty much moved on from the Blaze. I didn't really mind as I got a Versa for $140 3.5 years ago and felt the Blaze was outdated immediately. The clock face issue is IOS only. Not sure a Firmware update is needed to fix it, but look at all the complaints about bricked devices every time there's an update. Updating the 5+ year old Blaze could possibly break more than it fixes?

The only problem with the Blaze is now you CANNOT turn off All Day Sync (latest firmware update) so it dies within 4 hours for me.

@WineWonkette I don't use all-day sync on my Blaze. What firmware did you recently update? I think I updated mine back in 2017. I've got a few Blaze, some several years old and batteries last for over a week and one had a dead battery so I bought a new one and quickly installed it. I like Blaze more than many newer models. The battery on my old Blaze is twice what I get on a brand new Versa that I liked but I didn't like recharging constantly. @Stannman1 you wonder why there haven't been any firmware updates? There's nothing to update. Same with Surge, etc. Personally, always grateful Fitbit permits us to use discontinued devices on their app, I think people don't realize the benefit this provides us, as they're actively supporting devices that pay them nothing, which I greatly appreciate. If your battery dies, replace it or buy a new Fitbit. Life's easy 🙂

Just buying a new FitBit isn't always an option for the 98% of us lowly peasants who aren't made of money.

@Edqp its respectable to stick to budgets. Perhaps set aside some change daily or weekly until you can purchase the battery replacement for $7-11 from Amazon *(add it to your cart to monitor price changes, I got mine for $7 in March but today it costs $11). Until you've saved up enough you can use MobileSync provided by Fitbit for FREE! 🤗
It even works in challenges!
