Blaze Display and Function Errors

My Blaze, when powered on, briefly displays a garbled logo then powers itself down. It has been charged for 24 hours. When trying to sync I get an "HTTP 400" error code.
i have tried multiple resets of the device, phone reset, Bluetooth off and on, etc.
the display that comes up resembles the Fitbit logo but a bunch of tiny symbols inside. Then it goes dark, vibrates, and turns itself off. Help.

An http 400 is a bad response to a server request. 

When plugged into its charger does the display work?
