Blaze First Impressions

This is not necessarily a help problem, but I don't see where you can comment on product usage within the FitBit site.  I upgrade to the Blaze from the Charge HR when my Charge HR's band decided to bubble up and peel like a snake shedding it's skin.  FitBit support would not replace the unit because it was out of warranty, but I upgraded to the Blaze at a good discount.

I have mixed impressions about the Blaze.  I went with it because it seemed to have the most graphical interface of all the FitBit units.  It seemed to be the most "advanced".  The first thing that disappointed me was the charger.  You have to remove the unit from it's band and insert it into a clamshell-type charger.  Ok - it's not rocket science, but why can't I just plug the **ahem** thing in like my other FitBit devices?  The charging on the Blaze is over-engineered. I DO like how long the Blaze goes between charges - much longer than the Charge HR.

I'm 56 years old and the Blaze faces are all impossible to read without my glasses.  Ok - I'm an old fart.  The Charge HR had a more "crude" face type, but I could read it if I held it far enough away.  The Blaze?  Forget about it.  The face is prettier, but I can't see it without glasses.

The touch screen is not very sensitive and seems unresponsive at times.  I have to be very determined to scroll through the menus.  I've actually given up looking at certain menus because I'm not sure if the interface will respond.

THE BAND!!!  When will FitBit come up with a cool, easy to use band?  I know there are other options for the band - I have the basic band.

Overall I'm satisfied with it, although I think I would have been better off with the Surge.  And I love the FitBit interface on my iPhone.  FitBit has the market when it comes to the smart phone app.

The downside is that FitBit devices - the bands - tend to wear out quickly.  The Surge is my third FitBit device in two and a half years.  It's not good if a 50 something can wear out a FitBit device in less than a year.  I can't imagine how the youngsters are faring.
