OK so now i am one of a very long list of people who has a damaged screen!!
Not Happy Do not buy a Blaze!
Contacted customer services and this is the response i received below, the company apparently are aware of the fault with the glass on blaze
some people get a satisfactory result most do not, I think its the luck of the draw with customer services who you get and how they feel on that day
Hello William,
We appreciate you getting back to us along with the information we've requested as well as your initiative in sending us a copy of your purchase receipt.
We wanted to let you know that Fitbit's warranty covers the first two years upon purchase of your tracker. However, our warranty does not cover damage like cracked screen. Upon carefully reviewing your case, we are able to verify that your Blaze is no longer covered by our standard warranty which is stated in this article: Returns and Warranty.
We always aim to your satisfaction as our number one priority, which is for you to enjoy the Fitbit experience to the fullest and provide you with the extraordinary service you deserve. We would like to let you know that you're eligible for a 25% complementary discount off the purchase of any tracker of your preference on our online store.

Not sure that there's an acknowledgement from fitbit that there's a fault in that response.
The tricky clause in the terms the response links to is:
"This warranty does not apply to a Product or part of a Product that has been serviced, altered, refurbished, or modified by anyone who is not authorized by Fitbit, nor does it apply to any cosmetic damage such as scratches and dents. In addition, this Limited Product Warranty does not apply to damage or defects caused by (a) use with non-Fitbit products; (b) accident, abuse, misuse, mishandling, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes"
It seems that you need to be able to persuade fitbit that the damaged screen is the result of a defect and not accidental damage and that it is more serious than a scratch. That's not easy.
