I have the Blaze model, and noticed my step count doesn't seem to add up. I have a friend that has the same model and through a day he will have more steps than myself and I am up and moving more than him during the work day and he will have more steps after the shift. I have tried reseting it by holding the left and bottom right button and the next day still the same result. Any thoughts on what else I can try?

Not moving doesn't mean step counts stops as I have had some steps counts if for example am waving my hand, chopping with a knife with hand movement staying in a spot counted as steps.

Good to see you around @GG007! 🙂
Fitbit trackers have a finely tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or doing other arm movements, a tracker on your wrist can pick up some extra steps if it thinks you're walking. Many of these situations—such as working or cooking—do include a few steps in-between stationary periods so the tracker tries to give you credit for those steps. For the vast majority of users, the amount of stray steps accumulated is negligible when compared to the entire day.
