Hello all, I really need help with this one. I recently upgraded my phone from a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 to a Samsung Galaxy s8 and my blaze now will not connect to my s8 at all. My problem here is that when I go into my phone settings, I see the Blaze as an optional pairing device, but when I tap on it it says "connecting..." and after a little while it either says "can't connect to blaze" or "pairing rejected by blaze". Lots of solutions I've seen on here asre to tap on the Blaze option in the Bluetooth settings and 'forget' it, but there is no option for me to do that, or any options at all, actually. I can't even hardpress or something on the name, it just immediately tries to connect to the Blaze. I had no problems with my droid so now I'm confused why it wouldn't work with a better, more in depth phone (other people on other threads suggested to go to the other phone and "forget" the device, but the man at the phone store factory reset my phone because I was trading it in, so wouldn't that just erase the info from that phone entirely??)
Let me list out everything I have done so we can eliminate possibilities.
1. Shut down the tracker
2. Shut down the phone
3. Turned bluetooth in my phone's settings off and on again
(I tap the Blaze icon after every attempt and it still says "pairing rejected by blaze")
4. Trashed my blaze from my fitbit account through the app, turned my tracker off and restarted as if it were a new tracker
In addition, my fitbit has completely died recently and it never had before, so maybe that could be why it isn't connecting? Sometimes the Blaze option doesn't even show up in my Bluetooth settings on my phone, even though I'm wearing the tracker and it's powered on. Setting up the blaze (classic) was no problem at all, so I'm able to connect to that, but that doesn't handle the notification side of things.
I'm so frustrated I really just need help.
Also, everything is working, it's syncing to the app as far as steps and whatnot (I think), I just want my text notifications from my phone. In the fitbit app, I have the messaging app set up, the permissions in the fitbit app and my phone's setting app are available, I've tried everything in the book.
Please help, I'm growing increasingly frustrated.
Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Just got my S8+ yesterday. Same issue, can't get notifications on Blaze from phone but stats push fine to app. I've tried everything as you have.

To sync your trackers to your new phone do tge following :
- install the Fitbit app
- Log into your Fitbit account
- Grant any permissions the App asks for.
The app will then sync tye tracker.
Notice i never mentioned bluetooth.

I'm having the same trouble as well and tried everything you did. I have also tried setting up as a new device through the app and I do connect that way for all stats but I can't get any notifications and blaze is not listed as a paired device. Super frustrating and I'm not getting anywhere with notifications.

A warm welcome to the Community @Sarah0717, @kheiser, @RobbieG31 and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by.
First of all, thanks to all for troubleshooting this issue by yourselves. As you might notice, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ were just added and that's why some users are having issues connecting their trackers with it. but don't worry, you can always follow the instructions provided in the My Tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android App) post.
I hope this helps, let me know the outcome.

that doesn't work either. the app has all permissions. same as my previous S6 edge did. Blaze classic shows up in Bluetooth, but the blaze does not as it did on s6. I have done everything described in this post and on the help section. nothing has worked. I don't think the blaze works with the new s8 phones.

I think you're right. I had the same issue a couple of years ago when I went from the LG G2 to the G4. The G2 worked fine but the G4 did not at first. Months later the G4 did start pushing my notifications through. I can't get any of these directions to work on my S8+.

Nothing seems to work. I had same issue when LG G4 first came out. The G2 worked fine but not the G4.

@phillyflavor74 The Blaze will not show up in your bluetoorh until the Fitbit app pairs it.
Go to your notifacations and choose the option to enable notification widget.
Click the three dots on the top right and send test.
I would also force a sync.
I have found that by doing this it seems to work.
@AlejandraFitbit my experience has been that until the tracker shows up in the bluetooth listing, notifications will not come through. I'm not sure of what step finally does the magic connection to make it work.

I have already tried that. it wouldn't pair the blaze. Kept saying denied. now it doesn't show up. Until fitbit and the new phones get updated It won't work. appreciate the help though.

Ok, right. Now we just need a "How To" video for the Blaze and syncing to the S8 because all these written instructions do not seem to work.

its is compatible but that does exclude they need to update their software to have all the features work. that's the issue. thank you

I just got mine to pair!
This is what I did...I made sure that I didn't have a number of items already paired to my phone (tried that yesterday). What I think did it was that I turned off WIFI...I went into the fitbit app and requested it sync and right away send a test notification...which I received. I checked my bluetooth setting and OMG it showed it paired with Blaze (not just blaze classic). Turned WIFI back on and still working.
I'm not sure why this worked but good luck to all of you!!!

I'm not sure why either @Sarah0717? I'm going to take a guess that you have an Android phone though.
Android phones share the Antenna and some hardware between the bluetooth and Wifi radios.
