Try swiping up or down on the when you have the notification and you should ber able to read. Have you tried that yet? Looks like the swipe HOLDING the lower right button should bring it up. Let us know if that works, good luck!

I Have a galaxy s4 and the text notifiications only appear in my Blaze as "Message" in green and "new message" in the white call out bubble. I have tried swwiping the notification, holding my finger on it, nothing works. Is this just because my phone is old??

Again, from the manual:
Managing notifications Blaze can store up to 30 notifications, after which the oldest are replaced as new ones come in. Notifications delete automatically after 24 hours and whenever your tracker is restarted. Your tracker can show up to 32 characters of a subject and up to 160 characters of a text message.
To manage notifications:
• On the clock, swipe up to see your notifications and tap any notification to expand it for more detail.
• On a notification, swipe right to delete it.
• To delete all notifications at once, swipe down to the bottom of your notifications and tap Clear All.
• If a text notification is long, swipe down to scroll through the entire contents of the text. • To exit the notifications screen, press the Back button (left).

I was getting the same sender name with comment showing "1 new messages" with no message contents.
I had been using Verizon message+ app for SMS on my phone, but after changing to the built-in Samsung messages app on my Galaxy S5, I now get the content of the text messages on the Blaze. This seems to be an issue with the Verizon message+ app (version 6.1.3 on my phone).
On the Android Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, hit the gear icon to get into setup. Select Applications, then select Messages, then select Default messaging app. On the More networks screen, select Default messaging app and switch it to Messages instead of Message+. Your phone will now use Messages.
You also have to change the setting in the fitbit phone app to use Messages. Open fitbit app on the cell phone, select the Blaze device. Under Devices, select Blaze, then select Call and Text Notifications. It may prompt to enable notification services, which you want to enable, Then under Text Notifications, select Messages. You should be able to see the entire text message contents.
NOTE to Fitbit Support: I actually prefer using the Verizon Messages+ app and we would all like to know why this feature doesn't work with it. Please work with Verizon to resolve the issue, so I can go back to using their app for Messages+ on my phone.
