Blaze Text Notifications

My Fitbit Blaze (so stoked to finally have it!!!) notifications are on and the text message option is set to "message+" which is the app I use... the TXT notification comes through to the device but only by identifying the name of the sender and "1 new message"... I've pressed every and all the buttons and I'm unable to open the message fully and read the actual text, I've even tried test runs sending texts to myself and still no luck... HELP!

I was using an ihone 5s with no problem receiving messages.  They stated the name and the whole message.  I changed to a Galaxy S5 mini and now am only receiving the notificiation Messages in green and then new message written underneath.  Can anyone help please.

Honestly, I doesn't appear that it works well with any Galaxy phone. I
switched to iPhone and it works as described. No multiple text
notifications, caller ID works, and all controls doing what they're
supposed to.

@cat572 it sounds as if your using the default android messenger app, and your seeing what the app wants you to see. Try using a Google messenger., what'sapp, a bother popular one. Actually most messaging apps will work the way you want except the default one that comes with android.

I now have a Samsung s7 and have had zero issues. I'm not sure my Droid was completely compatable.

Well that is good.  Hopefully they are actually working on it.  As they can see there are lots of people having this same issue.  Thank you for sharing.

I posted in here moths ago about my blaze and it's lack of notifications and someone replied to my post but I can't find it.

So to answer the question, no I never got it to work properly.  It tells me who is calling when the phone rings but does not work for text messages.   It just has the new message bubble, no sender and no message.  I have tried all that I can to get it to work.  It just doesn't seem to work properly with my Note 3.  I still love it and wear it every day.  I just really wish that the messages worked as well.

Hello all, I hope you are doing fine! Woman Happy

I would like to know if you keep having problems receiving notifications with your Android devices? If you do, I recommend following @MarreFitbit's instructions in the My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app) post.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Wink

Turn on (preview) in your messege app

Turn on your preview in your messege settings

You have to enable previewing messages under the text message settings. There are other setting for the email accounts that have to be turned on too to be showing previews on the watch. Play with the settings on the phone about showing previews on a locked screen. It's possible it also keeps it from showing up on the watch with a locard phone.

I just bought the Fitbit Blaze yesterday ( I had the Charge2 HR for 8 days and upgraded) I also have the Samsung S4 with a Andriod Version 4.3 and that's the lowest version the fitbit will allow. I get text messages but I don't get the name of the person texting me, just the message. I also won't be able to control the music on my fitbit because you need to have a Andriod version 4.4 or newer. Really frustrating. I'm stuck either downloading an update for my version (which I just tried for over an hour and Samsung Smart Switch says it's not detecting the connecting on my phone) or buying a new phone which is going to cost me over $200 since I pay as I go, I'm not on a contract and don't get any "deals" on purchasing a new phone. Grrrr.

There is a few things you can try that may help...

1.) In Messege+ or  messege go to settings-Privacy Settings-make sure you have enabled See Preview and Received. Messeges.

2.) In The Fitbit App make sure you have enabled call, emails, messeges etc. notifications.

3.) Be mindful of the fact that when you walk away from your phone with the watch on your wrist you may need to re-sync your fitbit watch all over again in the Fitbit app. When doing this make sure your watch is close to your phone.

4.) Turning bluetooth on and off again may work in most cases and/or restarting your phone.

5.) For some phones you may need to disable phone/password lock.

6.) Lastly do not get discouraged. With ever new device we have to learn how to navigate through it simply by trial and error. Once you learn how you can maximize your experience and join in any fitbit community.

Has this been fixed to work with Verizon messenger?

@jray2855 you should have no problems getting it to work under the extended app notifications if you can't see it under the text setting.

Hello @Jackks, if you can read emails on the Blaze, and receive caller ID, then texts should come through.

You may check the status of your device here.
