Will the Blaze stopwatch feature keep the display lit while the stopwatch is running, or will the display turn off after 5 seconds like the Charge HR?

@Michael is right on the money here @lorimittan.

I just tested it- the stopwatch on the Blaze stays on-screen for 10 seconds before fading to the black screen. This is likely do to an effort to preserve battery life.

On the Surge the stopwatch doesn't turn off. On the Charge the display is using LEDs, whichever use a lot of power, that's why they turn the timer off in the tracking mode. I would assume that the Blaze will stay on alao.
Just a note, this is not a stopwatch, but a timer telling you how long you've ben exercising.

@lorimittan Maybe a moderator, @EmersonFitbit, can stop by and answer this, but since the display on the Blaze isn't normally always on, I wouldn't expect it to stay on during exercise or stopwatch modes either. (Though it will turn on automatically using their QuickView technology when you bring it up to view it.)

This isn't ideal. The stop watch needs to have the option to stay on.

Doubt anything will happen though

I would like to see an update for a display always on option while in exercise mode.

Its not convenient to have to double tap the screen or make a large wrist motion in the middle of exercise, especially those that are timed.

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Nope - the screen times out after 5/10 seconds. Super incovenient when doing any exercise that keeps hands/arms occupied!

Best Answer
Yes I know it times out. that's why I posted a link to the featured request to change it.

That's for the charge. Im specifically concerned with the blaze.

I wish there was an option to keep the stopwatch and/or timer on.

@ozzyg there is, as requested, its called the Chrongraph face.

Has both digital and analog face, along with a quick stopwatch option that will stay on until the battery dies.

Thank you Rich. I have an Alta and my 57 year old eyes can't see the display while I run. I'm looking at the Blaze and in my research I thought the stopwatch wouldn't stay on. Thank you for the clarification!

@ozzyg, the stopwatch is not for tracking your runs, but for timing events,

If you want to track your runs, you would either let fit it decide, or use multisport mode. In this mode the clock face does not stay on.

Thank you Rich. I guess no watch or fitbit will do 100% of what I want them to do. I need a job in their design team 🙂

Loved the galileo project. Learned of it through your signature.

Im sure you don't believe Fitbit is going to interview every user and add every request. Does a user really need the LED display on durring the whole run? It uses more power than the GPS?

As for Galileo they are trying to figure how the comunication has changed with the new trackers. It's a shame since i use to sync through my PI server.

Yes, this is very frustrating. I'm trying to time interval training and I have to drop my equipment and make a dramatic wrist flick to check the time. There should be an option to keep the stopwatch lit up. Of course you don't need it on for an entire run... but imagine doing 1 minute intervals with kettlebell swings, farmer's carry, etc etc

I see this as a major design flaw for a fitness watch.
