I am facing the same issue. I had an issue with my previous monitor, so I contacted Fitbit and got a replacement. After receiving it, I updated the firmware and selected the Arc clock face for display. However, the battery is draining after 30 hours or so. This never happened before, and because it's a brand new monitor I am unsure if there is a problem with the hardware or if this is something related to the update and the Arc clock face. I said this because I got another Blaze for a friend a few days ago which works just as expected, but using one of the original clock faces.
Hi,
I started investigating the issue while waiting for a Fitbit comment on this issue.
As of today, the culprit could be the "Activity" reminder feature - the one telling you to walk some more steps to "top off" the current hour.
I disabled it yesterday and my battery level almost didn't go down since - where it dropped 50% in about one day before.
I need more time to confirm this finding. Will let you know.
I can also tell that, I think mine drained quite a bit overnight, rather than in the daytime. So I think it is the new sleep tracking feature causing this...
@Loquacia I absolutely agree! I ended up exchanging my Blaze (thankfully it was still under warranty) and got a brand new replacement. I used to get 4 days of battery life on my old one using it with quick view on and also all day sync on, plus logging several exercises and receiving text notifications. Now even with the new one I'm only getting 2 days. I turned off quick view and all day sync. Screen set to dim and HR on auto.
It has to be the new sleep stages. It makes me want to remove my Blaze at night, but I like waking with the silent alarm versus a loud alarm.
It does seem the "Activity" reminder feature is the culprit.
Since I deactivated it, my battery meter only slightly decreased. I am on my third day from the 50% mark I started with. I can therefore expect 5 days from the full charge state.
To recap, I have:
Can anyone else having this issue confirm please?
Thanks in advance.
It's been 24 hours since I recharged my Blaze and the battery indicator remains full.
I can now confirm that deactivating the Activity Reminders returns the battery life to about 5 days.
Would be nice to have a confirmation from Fitbit.
I observed something different today. I didn't change any of the settings (activity reminders on), and the battery is not drained at all - I checked after waking up, in the middle of the day and in the evening, every time, it just used up a little bit (according to the battery icon when I put it in the charger). I will check again tomorrow and see.
Well, this is intriguing. It this problem resolving itself after few days?
Makes me wonder. Anyhow, mine is back to 5 days battery life.
Will post back if something new happens.
I don't know if it matters how well I slept. From my feelings, I slept better these couple of days than several days ago, though the data that Fitbit told me are similar - at the same time, related or not, the battery problem seems to become better than a few days ago. As I just checked, the battery is still full after a whole night. I hope it just mysteriously solves the battery problem by itself.
Best AnswerHello,
Exact same issue used to go 4 days without charging it. Now I get less than 24 hours. I don't use it for texting notifications or music nor did I use the other activities on it. I'm very disappointed
Best AnswerFinally recharged yesterday (Monday), thus yielding 5 days of battery life.
This includes 3 spinning sessions, sleep tracking, auto HR, auto watch mode.
I still haven't reactivated the Activity Reminder feature to confirm it is the battery draining culprit.
I'm going to turn off the Activity reminder on my Blaze to see if this stops the battery from draining so fast. I do believe this problem may have started when I installed Firmware version: 17.8.401.3
Best AnswerThis what happened to me.
