I am told to update to latest firmware because the fitbit app won't sync now. However when I click update, it is in searching mode forever. I tried delete the app and reinstall, it is still the same, searching forever and ever.... pls help.

Your actual error message swys something like, "Please update formware to be able to sync"?
First thing i would do is to check for updates to the Fitbit app.
Normally i would say if you can't comunicate to sync, you won't be able to comunicate to update.
With either a sync or upgrade problem i first would treat it as a sync problem, and look here http://help.fitbit.com/q=sync

I finally got it work by logout of the blaze and relogin again.
