I've stopped wearing mine for the same reason.

Which watch band were you wearing? How tight were you wearing it? Did it consistently get the band wet during the day?
Fortunately I have not had skin irritation issues, but I wear mine pretty loosely and move it around during the day to prevent sticking etc.

I had the same issue for a while, so I started wearing mine a little looser, but continued wearing it on the same wrist. I have noticed after time that my body has become used to the Blaze wrist band and is no longer having the issue. I have also seen a few aftermarket wristbands on Amazon and I'm going to try one of those out just for something different. I really want one of the metal ones but I'm not ready to spend the cash that the fitbit store is asking for one.

Same thing happened to me and my other half. Never got wet, but whatever Fitbit uses for their Blaze bands is apparently the same toxic stuff that was involved in their big recall.
Oddly enough, my Charge HR never caused this reaction.
Either way, the solution is simple... get a $20 metal band off Amazon and your problem will be solved.

It was determined to be the metal that caused the problem with the Fitbit Force.
The Surgical Stainless Steel was only up to America's standard, since then Fitbit is within the more stringent European standard. Some people also reacted to the Glue used, and now the models have no glue that comes in contact with the skin.

Buy a different strap.
Problem solved.

That's good info @Rich_Laue, and probably something to keep in mind when buying the cheaper metal straps from Amazon then. I have one and have had good luck, but always best to be careful.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi all! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience with this.
Also, something that I have noticed is that the band doesn't really need to get wet with water, but just wearing it in hot weather conditions will make you sweat and you will not even notice sometimes unless you pay attention so a good practice would be to clean the band about two or three days a week following the care and wear instructions and I'm pretty sure this will help a lot. In my case, no reaction so far.

My doctor just confirmed my Blaze has caused dermatitis on the wrist I had been wearing it on.
I have been cleaning it with alcohol but no relief.
Very disappointed.
I have developed contact dermatitis in the area under the sensor of charge 2 Fitbit . This will progress if there is further contact. It is new onset contact dermatitis ...awaiting feedback from company

Don’t cross your fingers too hard, not much they can do. Not sure why they are the only company in this space I regularly hear about this issue with. I’ve tried a bunch of bands for my Blaze all with the same issue. Stock Ionic band did the same thing. I got the “breathable” band for it and while it took a few weeks.... same issue, just milder. I am also getting it under the Ionic sensor which is bad... because unlike my Blaze I can’t third party band my way out of that.
In contrast I’ve worn Pebbles, Garmins and my Apple Watches for months almost solid with no issue. I have had the same issue with cheap generic bands off Amazon but you expect it then. I have found the nylon bands off Amazon to be the least likely to react if it helps.
