Blaze counting steps when driving

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just got a fitbit Blaze a few days ago and adjusted the wrist to dominant and my stride length and now is counting steps great when i'm walking.

But it is picking up step when I'm driving, with my work i do abit of driving for job to job everyday. Today it picked up an extra 3700 steps while I was driving between jobs.

Is there a driving mode function that can be turned on while driving so it doesn't count steps

It will count when its a bumpy ride. A lot of people use the DriveBit App on their phone to get rid of them

You can also enter a driving record to get rid of them

Sounds like DriveBit would be easier as it sounds like you make several trips

Welcome to the Community @Woc and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.

As our friend here said, your tracker might pick up some steps while you are driving but you have two option to negate this extra information.

1. You can download the app DriveBit which will automatically recognize the steps and log them to your account.

2. You can manually log the activity "Driving" by doing the following from your Android Fitbit app:

    1. Tap the exercise tile

    2. Tap the stopwatch at the upper right corner

    3. Enter your exercise and information

    4. Tap Log it

I hope this helps, catch you later. Woman Happy

I have an Apple phone. Same problem when driving. I drive a lot!

Thanks for input.  My old fitbit did not count when I drove.  Maybe they can put drive mode on the exercise mode.

Great to see you participating in the Community @Bonberd.

I think that it would be great for the Blaze to have a mode for not register information. I recommend taking a look at the Add "Driving Mode" Feature to avoid erroneous steps/floors request, vote for it and leave your comment.

In the meantime, you can follow the tips provided in my previous post or while driving you can put your pebble inside a pocket.

Catch you later. Man Happy
