The glass in the Blaze is extremely thin\brittle
Having loved my Flex and the previous support I had received from Fitbit, I decided to upgrade to a Blaze last week. I had the Blaze for two days & managed to scratch it on the edge of some rocks. I always put a screen protector on my phones\small tech devices. However, I hadn't had the chance yet. Initially, the damage was just the top, upper right of the display. However, now, there is a big diagonal crack covering at least a third of the display. The glass is so thin, the scratches literally caused the glass to crack.
I put a Zagg invisible shield for a Surge on it to hopefully hold it together. Zaggs are the best protector out there in my opinion.
At any rate, Fitbit support offered a 25% discount on a new one. Why would I spend an additional $150 on a product that cracks this easily? Being a device that's worn on the wrist, it's going to get bumped around. I would be willing to spend a few bucks to have it repaired, but, not $150. I love this product, but, the lack of durability has me seriously doubting I would ever buy another Fitbit...

I had a very similar experience with my Blaze. I've only had it about 6 weeks. I looked down one day last week and saw a small chip at the top of the screen and a crack that spread all the day down the screen. I don't even remember hitting the watch or screen. The screen appears to be extremely fragile. I contacted customer support tonight about the crack and possible replacement.

A similar experience for me. A cracked screen, a call to support, an offer of 25% off for a replacement.
I wore my new (only had it for 6 days and had been wearing it for 5) Blaze to bed. I checked my daily stats (pathetic as they were) before hitting the pillow - there were no signs of any damage. I awoke after what I thought was a good night's sleep to find the nightmare of a shattered screen! All this before a sip of coffee passed my lips. I must have put my arm under my head at some point or maybe bumped the nightstand while turning on or off the light. Whatever happened, it wasn't a hammer blow as would be indicated by what the watch face looks like now.
After checking out these forums I got my hopes up; I made a quick call to support to find out my options. I figured best case a replacement since it was so new and obviously hadn't been put thru any real trauma, worst case an offer to have me send in the damaged product with a small fee to replace the screen - but I came to find that just shy of not taking any action was the response. 25% off for a replacement is akin to paying $350+ total for a sports watch.
The Blaze is nice, and under other circumstances for the $200 I would recommend it to others. I had expected more from a watch designed to be worn during workouts, especially one touted as having Gorilla Glass for a face. I would definitely recommend the extra $10 (give or take) for a quality screen protector before you even get it out of the box.
Can anyone out there help!?!?!

They should be able to do better than that, I think alot has to do with consumer laws applicable to your country of origin. Im from Australia, and got looked after well. Get in touch with the support team and ask the question, they should be able to help more. They need to be able to supply screens as spares or be prepared to offer replacements. I had mine replaced from accidental damage in the first few weeks- I have had the new one for around 4 months with no trouble now, very happy with it. Training hard and seeing the results. Good Luck

Right after I purchased mine at Staples, I had Liquid Armor applied to it. It's a type of gel that fuses to the screen to give an added layer of protection. It cost me $30.00, but if I'm spending a load of money on something, like a smartphone (I buy mine outright, unlocked and skip the subsidies), I will do that.
If you want to know how tough that is, on the demonstration at Staples (way before I got a Fitbit), the store employee took his keys and ran across one with the Liquid Armor applied and one with the screen protector applied (a tablet, half and half). I did one better and took a flathead screwdriver out of my pocket (it's one of those screwdriver/bottle opener type things you find at Home Depot. It has a skull on it if you want to know. I use that to also open up boxes). This store employees eyes were huge when I took that out. I ran that thing across like NASCAR drivers at a track. End result: I destroyed the screen protector that was on half the tablet. They had to replace that for the demonstration. The side with the Liquid Armor? Zero. Not even a scratch.
In addition, you can buff off any fingerprints with a piece of Kleenex. Comes clean off.
My suggestion is to do this, because with screen protectors you can see where it was applied even if you do everything. With Liquid Armor, you can't. You literally don't know if it's there. But it's on. No one would be able to tell the difference except for you.
It's a 20 minute job to allow time for it to cure to the point where you can use it, full cure takes 24-36 hours. Both my Asus Zenfones (551ML and 551KL, the ML is the 4/64 version), have this applied to the screens, in addition to the Gorilla Glass already on it.

I chatted with support and was offered 25% off a new device. I have a hairline crack running down the right side of the screen I did not see the value of spending another $150 for a device that appers highly fragile.

If you live in the States or Canada, next time, get the Liquid Armor applied. It'll add $30.00, but you won't have the hairline crack.

I also had a problem with the blaze screen. After contacting Fitbit support I must say I am extremely happy with the support that I received. The support team went above and beyond to help resolve my problem. Thank you for a quick response. I would definitely recommend purchasing a Fitbit to friends and family.

And no it does not void your warranty. I had to have my phone sent back for warranty work. They never knew it was applied. This should stop any issues with the screen getting damaged.
