Blaze display turns on at random, but not from touch

I've been wearing a Blaze for several weeks, and find that the display seems to come on at random, and frequently. I've already turned off the "Quick View" feature, mostly because it rarely turned on when it was supposed to. It always turns on when I press any button, but it's nearly impossible to make it come on by touching the screen. And although it vibrates when a notification arrives, it doesn't light up, which means I don't know what notification has arrived. This is very frustrating! Am I doing something wrong?

I really wish it worked similarly to the Pebble it replaced, which came on with a simple flip of the wrist. I didn't need to do anything with my other hand to see the time or the latest notification.

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner. Have you tried to restart your Blaze? If you haven't, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Yes, I did restart it once, a few days after I got it. I don't recall what problem I was trying to fix, but this problem did also exist at the time, and nothing changed.

I have restarted it again, and will see if anything improves. But right off the bat it does seem to light up and respond to touch at least sometimes when I touch it. I'll keep an eye on things today and let you know how it goes.

During the day on the 6th there were several times when I became aware that the display had lit up and I hadn't done anything that should have caused it. (I was in a somewhat darkened room watching a movie, so it was easy to notice.) And several times when I touched the screen to check the time nothing happened, so I used a button to light it up. But at other times, including this morning, it worked normally.

Because it's true with some other devices like tablets and phones, I thought that perhaps moisture in my fingertip might have some effect. But whether my skin is uncomfortably dry or very moist it doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

Thanks for the update @SunsetRunner. Since the troubleshoot provided didn't work, I recommend keeping an eye on your inbox for further instructions.
