Blaze doesn't have SmartTrack!

I realized that my walks and bike rides weren't automatically showing up in exercise history since I got my Blaze, and called Fitbit today.  I was told that Blaze doesn't do SmartTrack, that you have to initiate exercise tracking.  That surprised me.  It was nice to be able to track exercise without having to use the phone's GPS and accelerate running down its battery.  Am I the only person who didn't know this?  Really seems like a backwards step.

I'm not sure if there has been some miscommunication but SmartTrack is working fine on my Blaze.

So you do not have to initiate exercise, and it shows up in your history?

I am afraid what you were told was simply untrue. Blaze definitely works with SmartTrack. I use it every day.  Jave a look this help article and video .  Please post again if you have any questions.

Good luck and welcome to the Community!

Hi anitican,

there must have been a misunderstanding in your conversation with Fitbit as the Blaze very well has SmartTrack. To enable automatic recognition of selected activities simply go to you're Blaze's settings in the web Dashboard and choose the amount of time which triggers SmartTrack for that activity.

Stefan

It seems to be set up correctly.  I do see that it recognized my walk from yesterday afternoon, just not the 24 mile bike ride I did on Friday. I'll see how it does today.  That's good news that it does have SmartTrack.

I walked a 5k with my Blaze. I didn't initiate an exercise on the tracker, so consequently SmartTrack tracked my activity. The first issue is the distance wasn't recorded. The second issue is it recorded my 5k walk as two separate walks and an outdoor bike. Why did it record part of my walk as outdoor bike? The issue with the outdoor bike was both distance and steps were not recorded. So not only was I shorted the 5k distance, but also thirty minutes of steps. I have since set all the SmartTrack activities to ignore due to these issues.

I can choose the Walk activity on the Blaze without Connected GPS and it will record both steps and distancce, but the Walk activity using SmartTrack will only record steps. Why the descrepancy?

Does it track your mileage on the bicycle?  Ours does not, even when we activate as you note.
