Blaze is not tracking sleep

My Blaze has been working nicely since I bought it (in June 2017 - 14 months ago).

Last Monday I did a firmware update (17.8.402.1) and since then the Blaze is not tracking my sleep at all. Or maybe it is but then not sending the data to the app when syncing. It's not a zero minute sleep as the Day doesn't even change in the dashboard sleep log windows. It looks like the Blaze firmware has killed the sleep tracking feature of the Blaze.

And when I see that it happened progressively to many users over the last few months,I'm afraid it's a sign of end of life. If that's the case, as it was working perfectly before the firmware update, I can't understand why this hasn't been solved already.

I will not go for a replacement device and will quit Fitbit if there is no quick fix.

It's great to have you here @Korrigan.

Have you tried any type of troubleshoot to fix this? If you haven't, I suggest restarting your Blaze by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

In the meantime, keep in mind that you can always manually log your sleep.

Let me know the outcome. Man Happy

Dear Alejandra, I've tried some kind of troubleshooting (such as turning off and on the blaze via the blaze firmware (=> Settings => Shutdown) but not rebooting by pressing the back (left) and bottom buttons as you suggest.

I've done it right away, and forced synced, hoping the data would be in the blaze and would then now be displayed in the app/webpage, but nope, it's still not the case.

I'll check tomorrow morning if tonight's sleep will be tracked and I'll let you know.

But I'm quite pessimistic. Nevertheless crossing my fingers  Man Wink

Hi Alejandra,

I can only thank you for this excellent advice. As mentioned earlier, I did apply your suggestion (restarting the Blaze by pressing simultaneously the back & the bottom buttons). I synced immediately after restart but this didn't load the data for the 4 missing nights. BUT, on the following night (Friday night) the Blaze did track my sleep and synced it on Saturday morning.

I waited over the week-end to check whether it was back to regular tracking or if it was only a one time tracking, and my blaze is just back to normal 🙂

Thanks again for your help !!!

Now I will check how quick (or how long) it actually  drains it battery.

I’m having the same problem with my Fitbit blaze but I didn’t do anything to it for it to stop tracking my sleep! I did however put it on my husband to track his sleep and it wouldn’t track his sleep and now it won’t track my sleep! What’s going on with my Fitbit blaze?

Hi Alejandra,

I wanted to update you regarding my Blaze.

As mentioned earlier, I did apply your suggestion 2 weeks ago (restarting the Blaze by pressing simultaneously the back & the bottom buttons) and it did work.

BUT, on last Sunday night (9/9/2018) the Blaze skipped again tracking my sleep. I applied again the restart protocol (restarting the Blaze by pressing simultaneously the back & the bottom buttons) and Monday night all went fine. But something tells me the issue is not over.

Mine is a brand new blaze (replaced by fitbit,) and it hasnt tracked my sleep yet. I've tried restarting it and adding as a new device and nothing.

I used the reset instructions given by Alejandra and my Fitbit did resume recording my sleep last night. Thank you!

I’ve tried doing the reset a couple of times and mine still would do the sleep either.  Phone on all night or off doesn’t make a difference. Very very frustrating!!
