I am facing the same dilemma as well. App asks me to charge in order to update the firmware, but after 2 hours of charging it still says low battery (and it doesn't show any battery indicator, just fitbit.com/setup display).

Return to the store where you purchased it.

Here's what worked for me. Connect charger to usb port (I used a Samsung
rapid charger). If you feel a little buzz when you put it in it is
charging. Wait a while (I charged it overnight.) Then go to Fitbit web
site, it will show you if the battery is charged. Update the device. This
took a long time. When updated, you will see the battery on the screen.

I plugged mine in to a wall charger (plugged the usb fitbit) and charged
it overnight. I couldn't tell it was charging but it was fully charged the
next morning. No problems after that.

Hi.  I have just received my blaze.  It is synced with my phone but requires an update.  It wont update as the battery is too low.  I have plugged it in to charge but nothing is happening.  Any ideas as to what im doing wrong?

Was trying to set up but got message stating " battery too low to continue". So I followed all the instructions and multiple outlets, sub ports, wall ports, PC etc and I do not get the battery symbol. Does this mean it is not charging?

Same problem here. The only thing I see is the Fitbit logo...no battery symbol.

Not solving my problem either😒. Pretty sure I am going to return this product and think about going Garmin!

Either trade it in for a Garmin, or send it under warranty.

As has been stated on the forums  many times, until the tracker is setup and it's firmware is running, you will not see a charging indicator.

While plugging the tracker in you will feel a slight vibration that tells you the tracker is charging. Let it change for an hour or two and you will be good. Or plug it in and finish the setup while it is charging.

Your tracker is doing exactly what is expected to do.

Hey guys! I brought my new Blaze today, and have encountered the same problem you have all had .... EXCEPT I have managed to get it working! I'm from Australia, so really didn't want to have to wait two days for an email back!
You have to:
1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone

2. Download the Windows fitbit app to the COMPUTER

3. CONNECT the fitbit to the dongle and put the USB to the computer.

4. Click on the tracker, and press UPDATE on the computer app.

Once it updated, it worked perfectly! Obviously leave it on there to charge for a while longer, but it is good to go.

So then you can just turn your bluetooth back on on the phone and away you go!

Hope everyone achieves the same result 🙂

p.s, not very impressed so many people have had the same issue and no official word from Fitbit or help guide has been established.

I'm glad your working @Regz94 simply go to the bottom of this or any page, you will see a link titled "Help". Tap this and it will take you to Fitbit's extensive interactive help site.

As for a word from Fitbit, there have been other threads that they have mentioned that the tracker needs to be setup before the a charging icon will be displayed. Please remember that as a community help forum it is the community of Fitbit owners that help each other out.

I'm sure that if a search of this forum was done for "charging", there would be more than one hit with a solution.

Actually, I was "helping" by giving the instructions as to what fixed a
major problem (which people have had the same issue and threatened to go to
Garmin). The tracker not charging wasn't the only issue. I'm sure you can
understand my frustration when I paid $300 and nearly 3 hours trying to get
it all set up. However, the solution to my problem has been posted, and I
hope that many other people can see it.
Also, as an Australian... the extensive help site wasn't so helpful if I
would like a reply within the day. So, I did as suggested and tried to fix
it DIY.

But thank you for your reply.

Hi just wanted to say I have the exact same problem.

ive tryed every solution possible and will now have to go back to the place of purchase for the 3rd time once my new one is in.

think it's a bit of a joke that there is this obvious problem that gets 55000 views on this forum and they just continue to sell them to punters like me and you....

it has been a very frustrating, time waisting exercise and I now wish I bought something other than a fit bit which I am now stuck with.

Here's what worked for me. First of all, I finally charged it with a fast
phone charger (I used a Samsung rapid phone charger.). You will not see the
battery on the screen. This will take overnight. If you feel a little buzz
when you put it in it is charging. Then go to Fitbit to update. You should
see that the battery is full on the screen. Then update ( this takes
several hours). When updated you will see the battery symbol on the screen
and you are good to go.

Add me to the hundreds of customers with the same issue. Tried multiple charging methods. Restarted blaze. Deleted from phone. Turned bluetooth on and off. Syncing while in charger. Basically everything listed in the last 13 pages of the forum. No go. Not impressed so far.
