Have you checked to make sure that heartrate is turned on?  You can check this on the Blaze itself.  Swipe through to the "settings" screen and make sure heartrate is set to "on" or "auto".  If it is, try turning it off and then back on again.

Ive tried all of that, i switched from the surge to the blaze. the surge sensor worked great but the blaze will only pick up my heart rate rarely.

Hi, @Sinplicity, that's curious, because the HR technology of the Surge and the Blaze are pretty much the same.  At this point I would suggest getting in touch with Customer Support (Contact.fitbit.com) .  Be sure to tell them the troubleshooting steps you have already tried, as that will save time.

I received a Blaze for my 66th birthday in October. Just yesterday the heartrate function stopped working. I too have tried switching the heartrate function off and on to no avail.

I usually ride the bicycles at the gym.  I have noticed and pretty disturbed that my blaze HR is drastically different from the bike's HR.  The bike's HR says I get up to at least 150bpm, but my blaze HR never gets above 100bpm.  I realize that they would not be exact and wouldn't expect that, but I am concerned that they would be that different.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks!

No insights but similar observation. I have a gym quality eliptical and a wrist monitor with chest strap and both disagree with what my Fitbit Blaze "was" reporting. Seemed to be off by 30-40 beats at peak rates. I'm waiting to hear from Fitbit about my heart rate stop working. I've now noticed that it is incrementing stairs climbed when I'm actually walking on flat ground. While I'm complaining I also notice that the activity minutes only works intermittently. All of this with a Fitbit Blaze that is hardly 2 months old.

The Fitbit team responded to my email and gave me a reset sequence that actually restored the heart rate function. Surprise! Surprise!

Now I'll see if that corrected two other anomalies. Incrementing my stairs climbed when walking on flat ground and my active minutes counter not working.

I'll give Fitbit props for their response and customer support.
