On my phone, Sony Z5, i changed the camera settings, so volume control activates the shutter. When I use volume control on my blaze, i can now take pictures. Dont know if it works on iphones or all androids. But a nice extra function with fitbit blaze

Wow! I totally had no idea! Thanks for sharing this with us @Tao75.
I just tried on my iPhone but what it does is that only controls the volume, doesn't really activate the shutter. Will play around with it a bit to see if I can get it to work.

Yup, I use this feature a lot, it keeps the shake to a minimum. I set the phone up or hand it to somebody, they aim, I shoot, no shake.
As for why it works, all those BT camera remotes simply send a volume up command to the phone.

I've tried this before but with the earphones that come with the iPhone. I used the control on them to trigger the shutter but had no luck with the Blaze. The only thing it does is control the volume while nothing is playing and the camera is active.

Hi there @DuckDuck502. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I just checked this and as an update, it seems that it no longer controls the camera directly (at least on my iPhone, not sure on Android), but I was able to use it with the Instagram camera and also while using Facebook or taking a picture from Whatsapp to send it. You could give that a try.
Hope this helps and anything else, let me know!

Check the settings in the camera app, you may need to enable take picture with volume control.
It really should work since the volume key is what all selfie sticks use.
