Calories Counted Wrong Overnight While Not Wearing Watch

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I never wear my Blaze at night and I typically have between 300 - 350 calories burned when I put it on in the morning, due to my BMR.  This morning I had nearly 800 and it showed "moderate activity" between the hours of midnight and 6am, while it sat where it always sits on my bathroom counter.  I should be around 600 calories so far for the day and it shows 1075 total - so I think it's still counting wrong.  I did a reset (left button and right bottom button down until the FitBit logo appeared), but it hasn't corrected.  Please help!  I live by this calorie counter!!

Hi there @AMD45.  Great to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems with your calories showing more than it should and when you're not wearing your tracker.

I would recommend that if you take off your tracker, don't leave it on your bathroom counter. Or if you do, make sure that the surface is not very reflective. It can be that the lights on the heart rate sensor are reflecting against the counter and that makes a feedback effect and makes the calories counted due to that false heart rate to be higher. I can recommend making sure that your heart rate monitor is not set to ON but instead, set it to AUTO. For this, go to the last screen on your tracker, tap on Settings, scroll down to Heart Rate and change it to AUTO.

After that, try it out and leave it somewhere the lights don't reflect and see how it goes.

Ok thank you, but it's been sitting on my bathroom counter most nights for
the last 8 months...and this is the first time it's happened. is there any
way to adjust my calories? This is going to throw my averages off! Thank
you.
