Hi, I just got a Blaze last night and started wearing it today, along with my One. I did two hours on the elliptical while wearing both. The One and the elliptical machine both said I'd burned around 1400 calories during that time. The Blaze said that I'd only burned 874.
I understand that with heart rate monitoring the calorie count will be different (and the elliptical did not have heart rate sensors), but this number seems really unrealistic for a sweaty 15.52-mile workout. Is it possible that the Blaze did not accurately calculate the calories burned during that time?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Community @lindsayred. If your tracker is not being accurate with your information, I recommend restarting your Blaze, also please check your personal information (height, weight). Are you manually logging this activity manually or directly from the tracker. If you are doing it manually, I recommend selecting "Elliptical" directly from the Blaze.
If you are not seeing this option, do the following from a computer:
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Devices
3. Go to Exercise Shortcuts
4. Click Edit exercise shortcuts
5. Select Elliptical
6. Save
7. Sync
I hope this helps, let me know the outcome.

I'm logging it from the tracker.
I tried restarting it and nothing changed. I've searched around the forums and it looks like a lot of other people are finding the Blaze to be inaccurate on the elliptical as well. I bought the Blaze because I thought the heart rate feature would make the calorie estimates a lot more accurate than those of my One, but the calories burned in normal day-to-day activities seem to be about the same and, as for the elliptical, I'm extremely disappointed in the Blaze's functionality there. As almost all of my exercise is on the elliptical, I think I just wasted a lot of money.

Let me jump in. I also do elliptical. I found out that the elliptical calories are always inflated. Not sure what brand you are using. The elliptical does not know your resting heart rate and how fit you are. If you are really fit, you will not burn as many calories as a heavyweight person.
I just got my blaze a week ago and i have been comparing it my my basis peak. The calories are very close together so i have to assume that the blaze is correct. For example, i did 40 mn of elliptical and burned 460 calories and i thought that was kind of high today.
Calories are really hard to compute but I have to admit that 2 hours of elliptical should have been more calories. How hard did you push ?

@pierrotsc while I have no experiance with the elliptical machines, I have to agree with you. It has been proven that most if not all of these types of machines, treadmill, cyclong, rowing, over estimate calories burn. This is simply done to make the user feel better. I don't see why an elliptical would be different.

40 min at 460? That is 1380 calories for a two hour workout.

@bbarrera Yes indeed but like i mentioned, the calories were high. I will go back to the gym tomorrow and check it again. I usually get around 300 calories so i do not know what happen. To burn more than 10 calories per mn, my HR has to be at least 150. I have low HR. I usually average around 130 bpm just to burn the fat 🙂
