You may want to check your settings. If you wear it on your dominant hand it will track steps more easily than if you wear it on your non dominant hand. You will need to adjust the settings to say you wear it on your dominant hand if that is the case. If you do activities that require lots of hand movement it can record steps even if you aren't walking around, which is the drawback of having a step counter attached to your arm.

No, I charge mine ok without shutting down.
Are you charging it via a computer? If so, you might want to try using a wall charger such as a phone charger.

There will be no battery logo on this state, your Blaze is not syncing, because as the display shows it must first be setup.
Since you mention the phone, go to the top left and tap on the hamburger menu - devices - now press the "plus sign" and follow the prompts.

@Mukka65 I agree with @fudge22 in that you might want to change the setting.
You say your not doing 10K, have you looked at your daily graph to see what time Fitbit says that you where walking? What where you doing at this time? Your Fitbit is mounted to your arm, and therefore is only able to monitor arm motions, it is looking for movements that the arm naturally would make while the feet are walking. Your feet might not be asking but if the band are moving in a way that Fitbit thinks that the feet are, you could very well be receiving steps.
Personally do I worry, nope, there are plenty of times during the day when my feet do move but my arms are not moving properly, as in the 3000+ steps I lose at night while at work. It all averages out, and even if it doesn't, it is still showing you your activity in relationship to yesterday activity. It will tell you that your more or less active than yesterday.
When I say it averages out, I'm comparing the readings while wearing both an arm unit and the Fitbit One on a second account. The two generally stayed close, working positions on the leaderboard throughout the day and week, with some months step totals differing by less than 100 steps.
