Clock Face during Exercise modes

Hi, Apologies if this has already been covered somewhere, but I can't find anything on it.

When I initiate an exercise on my blaze, I can't navigate back to the main clock screen until I've completed the exercise.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this how it is supposed to work?  I thought it would count the exercise in the background as such - I like to be able to look at the time while I'm out and find that I'm having to get my phone out to check the time.

Tap or swipe uo on the display.
Steps -Clock-Miles-Heart rate-Pace-Avg pace-Caloroes.

Remember its a touch screen, so a tap is a gentlie touch/release
