It seems that I can only get the Blaze to connect to my iPhone's GPS when i have the fitbit iPhone app opened ahead of time. However, I was pretty sure that this wouldn't be necessary. Is this actually the case, or is there a setting on my phone that needs tweaked to allow the Blaze to connect by itself?

The app does not need to be open, it just needs to be running in the background.

Hmm, on Apple Watch if I start an app that uses phone GPS, then iOS will launch the app on phone if it isn't running. And you get blue band at top of phone screen that an app is using GPS.
Would have thought Blaze works the same, and send message to iOS to launch Fitbit app if necessary. Guess not.
