Create a child profile for Blaze

I switched my Blaze to the Versa and now I want to give it to my son. He's 10 so I can't create an account for him but I want to create a child account so that he can use it. When I try, only the Ace comes up. How do I create a child account so that he can use the Blaze?

I'm afraid you can't. The Ace is the only fitbit you can use to set up a child account.

A warm welcome to the Community @AcadiaMedia and @SteveH thanks for stopping by.

As mentioned by our friend here, Fitbit Ace is the only tracker Fitbit has for kids and, therefore, is the only one that a kid account will accept. The Blaze can be set up only on a regular account for anyone who meets the minimum age requirement in your country.

Is there any plans to change this in the future?  Kids are a lot more tech savvy these days and having the options to do this makes a lot of sense.  Sort of the end user experience and making products for all that stretch across your products.

Regarding your question @AcadiaMedia, I don't have this type of information, but you can take a look at the Aloud more watches than Ace to family account request, vote for it and leave your comment.

To be able to not pass on your old Fitbit to your child is just ridiculous! Money making no doubt is the driver. .

Agreed

This is the daftest thing I have come across in a while.

This is a simple software issue and there is no reason other that $$$ to not be able to pass on a Fitbit to a child!

are there any plans to change this in the near future?

this makes the software difficult to manage. I have to set up a separate account for my 11 year old?

So I guess, I should lie about her age in order For my kid to use my old blaze. Wow

Best Answer

Yes, if you want to bypass laws that say Fitbit can't monitor and collect information from a minor, you'd have to lie and set your child up with their own account.

It’s a protection but if you can configure one Fitbit, you can configure
all not to collect the information in the profile. They just are greedy
and want to force you into their own products instead of what the masses
want. I will not be purchasing another.
