Distance and steps accuracy

I use my Blaze to track my morning walks.  I generally walk the same route -- one short one long depending on my needs for the day.  But, they're the same.routes.  I expect imprecise measurements of distance because it can't be perfect. That's not a problem.  My long route reads between 2.56 miles and 2.63 miles.  It takes me 41 to 43 minutes to complete this walk.  Up until last week, my Blaze reported that it took an average of 5579 steps for that route.  That number varied by less than 100 steps across about a month's worth of data.  But, this past week, it's been off by over 250 steps.  Same route, same pace, same distance, but now it's reading an average of 5315.  The Blaze is almost 2 years old.  I charge it about every four days.  I wear it 24/7.

Hi @mjdunkphd, welcome to the Community Forums!

I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Blaze to refresh its performance. Also, If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
