Went on a 5 mile walk previously clocked by driving the course/route taken. Blaze only calculated 3 miles. This is a reoccurrng problem. I can walk the same route and get different milege every time. I don' understand how a tracker has a tendency to be this far off and wildly inaccurate . What is being done about this issue, based on previous posts by FB blaze users with the same issue?

Hi there @ikidnas. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the distance on your tracker not being recorded accurately.
First, I would recommend making sure that your stride length has been set correctly. To measure your walking stride length:
Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.
Then, to change your stride length on the Fitbit app:
This should help at making your walking and running distance more accurate. Now, for way more accuracy on tracking specific activities as walking, hiking or running, you can use MobileRun.
MobileRun will measure your distance using your phone's GPS, which means that it will give you a way more accurate distance tracking. For this, open up the Fitbit app on your phone, tap on the exercise tile and then tap on the stop watch at the top right corner. Once you've done this, make sure it says "Track" and then, choose whether you'll be doing a walk, a run or a hike and this should help improve your distance tracking.
Hope this helps and please, let me know how it goes!

Same frustrating issue. Nike Plus tracked my morning jog at 4.5 vs FB Blaze of 3.8 miles. Same issue last weekend with a 10k - FB miles always short.
Hesitant to trust upgrading to the Versa or Iconic.

I appreciate the info except...I have a new Blaze. I do the HS quarter mile track and have also checked it hundreds of times with map my walk. When I connect to GPS, my 4 mile walk is a hood 3/4 mi less thank the 4 mi. BUT I noticed after the 1st 1/4 mile it almost seems to start to partially catch up. Does the GPS need to be started 5-10 min in advance? Suggestions? PS- I’ve also checked my stride and didn’t use GPS and that doesn’t track accurately at all either. Seems a number of boards on this...

Update: Switched over to a Garmin watch; great features, always accurate.

My Blaze hit a new low today - connected to my phone with bluetooth registered 4.8km on a 30km bike ride. Heart rate, calories, an route map all appear to be accurate, only the distance is screwed up.

I want to know how stride length has anything to do with distance! No matter how large or small the stride length is the distance doesn’t actually change just the number of steps does.
