Erratic stair count

My Blaze stair count is erratic.  Using the same set of stairs, it counts 6 flights one day, and stops. I can go up and down 20 times and it stays at 6 flights.  The next day it will count all 20 flights.  I have already tried resetting, and it makes no difference.  Once it's stuck it does not change. Suddenly, the next day, it will go back to 1, and stay there even if I do 20.  I had the same problem with a Charge HR years ago, so it seems to be software, not hardware based.  I wish that someone at Fitbit would actually update the software associated with this specific problem of stair count.  Reading the forum it seems to go in different directions, either over or under counting to an extreme degree.  If it's off by a couple of flights, that is acceptable, but losing or gaining over that exemplifies a real problem. Does Fitbit plan to actually come up with a solution?

I had a similar issue. While running on a treadmill with 0% incline my blaze registered 22 flights of steps?!

Hope there is a fix soon.

@goodmorning the one thing i feel to ask is that when going up stairs, do you do different things with your fitbit arm? Maybe sometimes carrying something amd at other times simply sliding the arm up the tailing? Your tracker needs to see that steps are being taken before it looks for changes in altitude. So sliding the arm up may prevent steps from being recorded,  and therefore no floors counted.

@LMGV2015 on a treadmill you sjould never see floors counted, since fitbit doesnt count virtual floors.

So why the floors, i really would need more info on the room? Is their a fan, especially an oscillating one? This could cause a disturbance in the air causing high and low pressures around the Fitbit. Thesr pressure changes may be recorded as a floor.

BYW it is the principle that causes the back of a truck to get very dirty.

@Rich_Laue I honestly am not sure. It's never done this before. Which I thought was really strange. There was no fan or anything else.

looking forward to your input.
