Please help. I took my tracker off last night when I went to bed around 11. I didn't put it back on until thisor ming at 730 and it already had 2700 calories burned. I already know that we burn while we are sleep but that is no way correct. I want to erase today's calorie count and start over but I don't see an option. Restart does nothing more than turn it off and on. Why has it done this and how can I fix it.

Hey @Slimthick2016, is nice to have you on the Community! Smiley LOL I move your post to the Blaze Board. I'll recommend to update your Fitbit app to the latest version by going to the Google Play store on your device, tap the menu button, tap My Apps and choose the Fitbit app, tap Update (if you want automatic updates in the future, check the Allow automatic updating box). Finally, sync your tracker and test it.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

Is there anything else we can try.  I'm currently almost at 9,000 calories burned and I've only been up for 3 hours.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SharondaShariee. The calorie burn you see on your Dashboard is part of your basal metabolic rate (BMR), that is the rate at which you burn calories at rest just to maintain your vital body functions like breathing, heartbeat and brain activity. This is based on the information you submitted when you set up your account: gender, age, height and weight.

This amount resets every midnight. Let me know if you need more help Smiley Happy.

Ive seen this basic answer everywhere, but my issue is far greater than this.  I doubt I'm burning 9,000 calories while I'm awake, let alone while I'm sleeping.

Hi there @SharondaShariee, it's good to see you around in our community. I would say your calories are correct, so as long you maintain a high pace on your exercise your calories will go accordingly with your effort. I think the following post "Calorie Burn Accuracy" from @SebringDon will explain better this.

Hope this helps! Cat Embarassed

I am sitting down with a heart rate of 55, but my Fitbit Blaze calories burned just jumped from 4117 to 4376 in literally 5 mins. This has to be a fault, there is no way I burned that amount of calories in 5 mins. Please don't try to say it is estimating what I will burn as it is still going up at a rate of 2 or 3 calories a minute.

I've got the same issue with my blaze!

It's 08:30am and apparently i've burnt 3,400kcals. It's 100% not resetting every night.

I've emailes fitbit as i'm getting the same BS you seem to be getting about basal metabolic rate. I understand BMR and mine is calculated at around 2,000.

You can't burn 3250 in 8 hours especially if 6 of which was sleeping 😂😂😂

Did anyone get a response to this one?  I have the same issue

Hey!

Fitbit emailed me and gave the following instructions. It worked fine then!

  • Press and hold the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  • Let go of the buttons.
  • If your tracker doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my tracker? to turn Blaze off and back on again.

Hope it works for you too!
