Fitbit Baze - I currently have 58 floors counted and have not climbed a single flight of stairs. This has become a constant issue and I have reset the blaze numerous times to no avail. I can handle hand movements being counted as steps but 58 flight of stairs on a consistent flat surface? This is resulting into a $200 paperweight. Very upsetting!

Hi there @dthom. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂
I'm sorry that you're having issues with extra floors being tracked on your Blaze. You can take a look at this thread about someone having similar situations but sometimes, this is caused because the tracker records elevation instead of actual stairs. Take a look at the thread here and if after that, you still think your tracker is not being accurate, feel free to get in touch with the Support Team and they will be happy to help you with this.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Hi,
Got my Blaze 2 weeks ago and all is doing fine until yesterday when it counted I climbed 46 floors! It was a typical day for me yesterday. Went off to work, climbed a normal amount of stairs, and I don't know why all of a sudden I got 46 floors! My normal would be 10-17. Yesterday was also a fine day, not windy or anything. Check this out.
Any idea? 🤔

Hey there @Maddieee. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂
I'm not really sure what could have caused your tracker to record 46 floors. What I can recommend right now though, would be to restart your tracker by pressing and holding the left and lower right button for 10-12 seconds, this will reboot your tracker and after that try it out and see how it goes.

Hey @FerdinandFitbit,
Just want to get back to you for an update. Actually, what I've noticed is when I ride a vehicle, the floor counts seemed to shoot up. I have observed this for 2 consecutive days. Like today, I rode a van and I checked the floor count in my Blaze. It says 13. Then when I get off, walked a bit, climbed a around 2 flight of stairs, rode an elevator going to sixth floor, I've noticed it went up to 30 floors! The other day I got 26 floor counts. I just restarted the tracker again. I know this is a minimal issue compared to others but I am kind of paranoid that something is wrong with my Blaze since this happened a week or two afer my purchase. The first week of use is actually stable and has a normal count. I would understand if the erroneous counting of floors happened from the very beginning, but it didn't.
Any advice? Thanks!

@Maddieee i won't answer for @FerdinandFitbit, but I think he will suggest a restart.
Just some thoughts on the way the Fitbit detects floors. It looks at a negative change in air pressure while it detects that your walking, you didn't mention the extra steps that was received during driving. Oh but your in a car, well fitbit has provided a way to remove both steps and floors.
So let's look at what might be happenning, a bumpy ride gives steps and an open window will reduce and or increase the air pressure in the vehicle, this will have an effect off adding floors.

@Maddieee wasn't trying to give an answer but to. I've an explanation of what is going on. As for DriveBit this is android only, iOS doesn't have a simaler app yet.
BTW every tracker on the market has this steps counted pro Ken while in a car with a stiff suspension or a bumpy road.

I tend to ignore the floors climbed.
You also need to be aware that its not only going up stairs that is counted as floors climbed, as even if you walking and you going up a steep plane, this would also count as floors climbed and more floors climbed are counted if it happened to be windy as well.

Hi @quittarae. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂
As @GG007says, just by walking somewhere that has height variations, for every 10 ft it changes, it will be counted as a floor. Now, you're saying it's counting 545 floors which sounds a little bit high so, since you've already restarted your tracker, I would recommend getting in touch with the Support Team for them to take a closer look and see what could be causing this.
