What does the Fitbit Blaze screen display?

  1. The FitBit Charge HR screen is blank and shows time only when you double tap on it
  2. The FitBit Surge is always on screen displaying time
  3. The Apple Watch screen is blank and until you flip your wrist at eye level

What does the Fitbit Blaze screen show all the time -- is it like (1) the Fitbit Charge HR, (2) the Fitbit Surge or (3) the Apple Watch?

I am also wondering if there is a way to keep the screen on permanently as well. I had the Surge and I just recently purchased the Blaze. I really liked having the screen on all the time because its easier to look at the time. If you find out, please post what you found. Thank You! 🙂

@gordo_c_123   At this time, there is not a way to keep screen on all the time.  (By design it is to conserve battery I would imagine.)

Thank you for the response. I contacted Fitbit and they informed me that this feature does not exist. I hope that they offer this setting option when they send their next software update through. I don't mind if it burns through my battery. I would sacrifice the long battery life if it meant the watch face was on all the time.

Yeah, I'm willing to have to charge it, for the feature it's way worth it to me not having to constantly flip my wrist during workouts, especially weights

I will return my Blaze, some times the screen doesnt turn on when you move your hand, I preffer to use the Surge because I can see the screen all the time, the charger is also complicated you have to remove from the belt case. The software is good , but the Blaze have so many details that I dont like.

@Fitibiti_ng there is a stopwatch on the Blaze,  and as long as you are looking at tye screen the Quick View will keep the display on. So there should be no problems reading a pulse.

@Rich_Laue , unfortunately that isn't so.  On stopwatch the screen will time out as usual in 10 seconds... it doesn't know you are looking at it... you can bring it back by flicking your wrist again, but it may not be practical for that reason for taking a pulse.

@Rich_Laue @Julia_G Hey guys thanks for your comments. Unfortunately fitbit's products just don't have healthcare workers in mind (which is fine, they just lost me as a customer). Even if the screen did stay on for an extended period of time (like the surge), it's really cumbersome to toggle to another screen just to get to the seconds ticker every time I need to check a pulse - which is why I returned the surge and would never buy the blaze. I'm very happy with the $211 apple watch that I purchased in fitbit's stead. Pulses have been a dream and it looks more professional.

I miss the fitbit app a lot, but it wasn't worth keeping just to have to wear a wearable AND a watch.

That's actually wrong, Fitbit, one of their goals is to get to healthcare companies to require people to/have people wear Fitbits and then the healthcare companies can more accurately provide coverage, and it's a win-win, also some companies have been known to save cooperate companies up to 5% on insurance premiums, so I don't know what you mean, but Fitbit wants to be in healthcare, and based on how some studies come out, Fitbit may get really rich off sales, if it's proven that Fitbit is better at motivating people to exercise and then improves grades and work productivity. Hope this helps inform people

Whie it is true Fitbit does not want to be in the healthcate business,  @Fitibiti_ng is refferring to being in the health care management  business.  The way Fitbit has configured the clock faces is not conducive to doing simple tasks that require the care provider to monitor a step for a specific time period. Like when holding a wrist with one hand and counting pulses, while watching a second hand on the other arm.  Using a second hand is easier for a HC provider than watching a digital seconds display. Unfortunately nether of which is redily available.

I completly understand this point of contention with the clock faces offered.

Oh, then yes, I agree, the seconds are crucial for anyone in any medical field, especially patients.

I recently  bought the Fitbit Blaze and I have it currently synced wo my phone.  I am having trouble turing my fitbit "on" to a screen other than fitbit.com/setup.

@jlt2352 If you've already tried restarting your Blaze with no success, then I'd suggest removing the Blaze from your account and going through the setup process again.

I recently purchased a Fitbit blaze. I wish there a way to have the time displayed at all times. Yes, I understand that it may be a battery drain, but I am willing to charge it frequently.

From a person who likes fitness and working out, the lack of always on feature is disappointing. When I am in a plank hold or a hand stand, I don't want to move my wrist to see the time and see the timers. I do want to glance at my wrist and see this information. This is standard functionality for a $25 digital watch.

I have also noticed that the quick view is not 100% reliable. Mose of the time the display comes on when my wrist turns, but not all the time. I also noticed that the quick view can have a 1/4 or 1/2 second delay. That is not acceptable for a watch. This is standard functionality for a $25 digital watch. Maybe the quick view could stay on longer? Maybe this could be a user preference? Maybe there could be a sensitivity feature for the quick view too? Some people maybe ok, with an arm lift and wrist turn to enable the display. I would prefer a slight twitch of the wrist would enable the quick view, which would also stay on for 5 minutes.
