Hi guys, I've had a Blaze for about 2 1/2 yrs now and it stopped recording HR properly about 6mths ago (only records intermittently), and has now given up altogether and won't hold a charge either. Is this the sort of lifetime to expect from the product? Loathed to fork out the same sort of money again if I'm going to have to replace every couple of years?!?
Thanks for any advice. Nick.

Welcome to the forums!
Rechargeable batteries do have a life span. A lithium rechargeable battery, such as in the Fitbits have a average life span of 2-3 years from when it was manufactured. In addition, during that time it can be recharged hundreds of times. But with each discharge/recharge cycle it losses a small (very small) fraction of its charging capacity.

2-3 years lifespan for a Li-polymer battery is on the low side and should be expected only on cheap products.
Paying premium prices that Fitbit charges should get you a high quality Li-polymer battery that should last 5+ years. Mine is on the way out after 2 years. No more fitbits for me.
