I just got my Fitbit Blaze and whenever the screen turns on it makes a very high pitched ringing sound. Is this a defect? How do I make it stop,

I would not be able to say if it is right or wrong.
How loud is it, and how old are you? Ok you don't need to answer, but younger people can hear sounds of a higher frequency. Your tracker has an oscilator and it multiplexes the display. For the average person this is not audible but there is a possibility that this is what tour hearing.
