Fitbit Blaze is weird

Hello everybody,

Fitbit Blaze is weird.

1. My son and me both have Blazes. We have the same firmware - 17.8.200.3. In my son's watch there are only two options in Settings for the Bluetooth classic- Off and Pair. In my watch I have 3 options- Off, Pair and On. In my son's watch after pairing with the PC/smartphone the Bluetooth Classic option disappears and there is no way to turnn off the bluetooth which I don't want to use most of the times (as I don't think it is healthy because of the radiation emmited). In fact I use the bluetooth only for getting to my Dashboard. The only way to turn the bluetooth off is to shut the Blaze down. What is a possible reason for the watch not having "On" option in the Bluetooth Classic? How shall I fix the issue?

2. Another reason showing that the Blaze is weird is that in my Blaze I don't have to turn on the Bluetooth Classic to get to my Dashboard on my PC with a dongle. It is Off and I can still sync the Blaze with my PC. Does it mean that the Bluetooth is always on (showing Off in the Settings, though)?

Sorry if the message seems kinda higledy-piggledy.

You have two types of Bluetooth on the Blaze, the Bluetooth Low Energy, that is used to sync the data to the computer and the phone. This BTLE does not have a switch to allow to be turned off and is always on.
The other type is the Bluetooth Classic which is used for music control on the phone the computer most likely wont be able to use.
You do not jeed the Bluetooth to get to the dashboard, the Bluetooth is needed to get your data c to the Fitbit server.

As for your sons Blaze, you say it is paired, as in able to sync, but going to the phones Bluetooth settings do you 2 Bazes connected? One simply says Blaze, and the pther sayes Blaze classic? If Classic is not paired t han the Blaze has no need to display on and will have to be contacted to a phone.

Glad you got it, to clarify for any one else. My phones Bluetooth settings show to Blaze devices.

If my classic was not paired the only options on the Blaze would be off and pair.

Hello @alex5908! As mentioned by @Rich_Laue the Blaze has two types of Bluetooth,  Classic and Low Energy. Low Energy is used for syncing the Fitbit and notifications. Classic is only used for music control. @Rich_Laue thanks for the amazing cooperation! 😉

Happy stepping!
